Biography
Stevo Atambire
is an award-winning musician and singer from the Northeast of Ghana, West Africa. He is the powerful voice behind the hit song “Anchor Point” by Ahmed Spins featuring Stevo Atambire, which has gained more than 66 million views on Spotify.
Currently, he is recognized as the leading kologo player in Northeastern Ghana, the birthplace of this traditional instrument. His music can be heard everywhere—in taxis, bars, and public spaces.
The kologo is a two-stringed instrument, similar to a lute, with a body made from a calabash. For Stevo Atambire, this can sometimes be a broomstick with a recycled oil canister.
Stevo's playing and singing style is deeply connected to the nomadic cultures of the Tuareg and Fulani people. His powerful vocals and intense kologo playing are both energetic and captivating.
